Look Me in the Eye, by John Elder Robinson

This quarter i read Look Me in the Eye, by John Elder Robinson. This book is told from the point of view of the author and it is his life story. As a child, Robinson was not the same as other children his age--there was always something different and he couldn't figure out how to fully adapt socially like other children. At the time, he was deemed as "bad" or "weird", and had trouble making friends. Little did anybody know, but he had Aspergers. He had family problems at home (with his parents constantly fighting), and so at the age of 16 left home to make a living for himself. As Robinson stated in his book, people with Asperger's may have trouble socially but usually have some unique talent. Robinson's talent was with machines. He was able to develop different machines and technologies, and even worked with famous bands at times to work on making special effect guitars. This book was touching and truly an inspiration, and I would recommend it to anybody.
