The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult (whole book)

The Tenth Circle, by Jodi Picoult, was a very interesting book to read. The main character in the novel, Trixie, 14, was dating Jason, 17. At a party one night, Jason raped her. They had been dating for a while, and so this was shocking. Trixie's father, David, will do everything in his power to protect his daughter. Trixie is the love of his life. He is a cartoon artist, and most of his comics are based off of Trixie. When the trial for the rape starts to go wrong, in all different ways, David is the constant person in Trixie's life to show his love. When problems occur, David is always there, trying to fix it. David and Trixie have a very strong relationship, or so David thought. As Trixie got older, she hid more and more from David and his wife (her mother) Laura. Trixie may act like she's too cool for her father, but really, she loves him deeply. David is the same, except that sometimes he hides how much he loves her because she can't handle it. But it is always David there to carry Trixie out in his arms when she is hurt, or to hold her while she cries. This book is so powerful and meaningful. While some parts were sad or somewhat disturbing, overall the book was great.
